Sewer Project
An application for funding through Department of Ecology was started by the County on behalf of Flaura’s Acres. Cynthia is working on completing the application. An updated engineer’s estimate will be required. United Engineering is working on updating the original estimate.
County has a draft MOA that can be shared with Flaura’s. Needs to be reviewed by County’s legal department before being signed. Angi will send out draft for review and comment.
Latest annual report submitted to DOH is missing some monthly flow data. Tom will follow up
DOH is getting ready to issue a Notice of Correction with the next Operating Permit. Dates can be modified as more is learned about project funding and timelines for construction.
Drinking Water
Nick Dolce from the City called Tom and asked for contract operator information. City wants to look at plans and specifications and other information about current system.
Lead service line inventory due on October 14.
Staff from DOH will attend next check-in on the 16th to talk about potential consolidation funding for the water system.
Flaura’s Board is interested in consolidating their water system with the City’s as well as the sewer system. This may or may not involve annexation – annexation is not a requirement for consolidation, but annexation is the end goal at some point. Some residents are against annexation, but would benefit by paying less for sewer and water monthly rates and HOA fees would not apply. The City would be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water system once it had been upgraded to meet City standards. The residents would enjoy consistent, reliable water without having interruptions due to occasional power outages.
Next Steps
Procure an engineer through methods that meet state and federal standards. This will need to be done through the County, and does not need to happen immediately.
