Attendees:
Lisa-Ann Oliver, Flaura’s Acres
Tom Noonan, Flaura’s Acres
Cynthia Fuller, Commerce, Small Communities Initiative Program
Sewer Project
- Design work is completed and submitted to City. City will not issue an approval until the permit fee is paid. Permit fee will be paid when funding is obtained for the project.
- United Engineering provided an updated engineer’s estimate. The project cost is $1.9M.
- Connection fees are $11,322 per home, but may be negotiable.
- Decommissioning of the individual tanks is $450/home.
- Sewer fees will be $96/month per household.
Funding
- Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) thinks they have funding capacity to conduct an income survey of the residential neighborhood. Lori Blau will coordinate with Lisa-Ann about next steps. Typically, a public meeting is held and RCAC staff explain the survey process.
- Now that construction costs have been established, it would be a good idea to reconnect with USDA RD staff. Cynthia will invite them to the next check-in.
- Lisa-Ann received an email back from a representative suggesting the HOA contact Commerce’s CERB program, Public Works Board, or another link that did not go to a funding source. HOA’s are not eligible to apply to PWB, and CERB only provides funding to projects that have an economic/business component to them. Cynthia will draft talking points and send those with a list of previous infrastructure projects funded with legislative appropriations to Lisa-Ann and Tom to review and forward on as they see fit.
- The semi-annual member’s meeting was held, but was not well-attended. Minutes will be posted on the Flaura’s Acres website. The potential project, project costs, funding efforts and the possibility of an income survey were discussed.
- The dates for the bi-weekly check-in have been extended into 2024.
